LITURGICAL ART

I had been doing liturgical art design projects since the late 1990’s, but it wasn’t until 2002 when I was commissioned to paint the Fourteen Stations of the Cross that I began to move seriously into liturgical art. A priest friend who was also a Liturgical Consultant began recommending me for various commissions from designing church accessories such as candle cabinets, statue platforms, an alter, to the painting of murals and the restoration of old religious artifacts. Since the painting of the Fourteen Stations of the Cross in 2002, the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago commissioned me in 2005 to paint a set for their St.Joseph Village Chapel in Chicago. My new focus from nature art to liturgical art has led me to my most recent paintings over the past two years including Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Lourdes, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of Medjugorje, The Risen Christ, The Nativity and several Jesus and St. Joseph paintings all of which are shown in the following pages and are available on giclee prints and ceramic tile.
